the reload family
Crossfit Reload, with its rustic hardwood flooring, is located in a unique space at the Old Pin Shops in Oakville, Connecticut. Previously CrossFit Watertown, we have been around since 2007 and are proud to bring the Sport of Fitness to our community and surrounding towns.
CrossFit Reload is determined to make CrossFit available to the majority of our friends and neighbors by offering a newly expanded class schedule, convenient payment options, and discounts to our local heroes; military personnel and first responders.
With 30+ years combined coaching experience, we have an extensively diverse coaching staff with backgrounds ranging from education, the medical field to accounting and finance to an Olympic hopeful. With their wide range of experience, they all bring about their own flare to working with our members.
In CrossFit you may hear people refer to the “box”, as in, “My box is having a competition this weekend” and wonder what the heck they are talking about! Well, it’s just CrossFit lingo for “gym”.
Our box is quite unique, located in an old factory building (The Pin Shop) with fabulous old hardwood floors and a great ambiance. We have all the CrossFit equipment needed for our WOD. This includes weights, kettle bells, pull up bars, dumb bells, ab mats, rowers, jump ropes, assault bikes, parallettes, rope, medicine balls, etc.
Why CrossFit Reload?
Why CrossFit Reload? CrossFit Reload is not your flash in the pan, popping up on every corner CrossFit box. It’s beginnings were before the hey day of CrossFit fame, when very few had even heard of CrossFit, let alone had a CrossFit gym. Starting as CrossFit Watertown in 2007, it was one of the first CrossFit boxes in Connecticut. Outgrowing it’s original Pin Shop space, it moved to it’s current location, right across the street, in April of 2009 and changed it’s name to CrossFit Reload in 2011.
Not sure if CrossFit Reload is for you? Contact us to schedule a free trial class. When you take the class, and love it, we can schedule you to complete the required fundamental classes. The fundamentals are two private/semi-private training sessions that are necessary to teach you the 9 foundational movements of CrossFit. By familiarizing yourself with these movements will prepare you for introduction into regular classes.
The beauty of CrossFit is it is infinitely scalable, meaning that while you may be new to the group, you can participate in the workouts with all members with exercises scaled to your fitness level and ability. As your fitness and endurance improve, so will the intensity of your workouts.
